SARKAR 3 – Movie Review (3/5 stars)

sarkar 3 movie review

The Sarkar franchise has been one of my favorites. The main reason for  it is their starcast. Amazing actors taking from Kay Kay Menon to the veteran Amitabh Bacchan, Sarkar have had it a lot. Now it’s third installment has finally hit the screen. The star cast involves Amitabh Bacchan for sure but this time with some new faces. Along with his the cast includes Jackie Shroff, Ronit Roy, Manoj Bajpayee, Amit Sadh and Yami Gautam. The film has been directed by Ram Gopal Verma. The film is produced under the banner of Amitabh Bacchan Corporation. The running time of the film is approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes.

This time too it seems like a similar story which maintains an environment of Sarkar. The story starts with a deal offered to Sarkar but he refuses as always. Then the conspiracy begins. A series of conspiracies are planned against Sarkar as before. Here we are being introduced to two main characters – Shivaji Naagre played by Amit Sadh and Annu played by Yami Gautam. Annu is in the mission of avenging her father’s death who was killed by Sarkar. Ronit Roy plays Gokul who is the right hand of Sarkar. It seems as if his own grandson Shivaji planning conspiracies against him and assisting his enemies. But at the climax the coin flips and the story ends up being Sarkar and Shivaji in a team and they had planned all this plot to kill their enemies.

  Movie Review:

There’s is nothing to say about the screenplay. You are just going to see bunch of talent in a single film. All the characters stand tall in their roles. Amitabh Bachhan as always nailed the role as Subhash Nagre a.k.a Sarkar. Manoj Bajpayee is naturally compelling and you can’t just ignore him. Amit Sadh is one of the talented and underrated actors and here he proves he is here to stay. Besides the appearance of Yami Gautam is phenomenal even if she has a small role comparatively.

Above all the cinematography of the film is very well crafted.

In the Bottomline,

If you have watched both parts of Sarkar franchise then for sure you will want to watch this as well. On the other hand this movie falls in the genre of political crime thriller and this is not everyone’s choice. If you’re someone who enjoys watching story full of politics then this would be a treat for you. Thus, Sarkar 3 grabs 3 out of 5 stars. Also Bahubali 2 is running on its second week and still holding a strong position which may affect the box office collections for Sarkar 3.
